Memory Verse

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. Our Leadership

Sr. Pastor, Elder Nakia Smith and Lady Regina Smith

Elder Smith is the Sr. Pastor and Founder of Restoration Outreach Ministries of Longview, TX.  He previously served as an itinerant pastor in the East Texas Region of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church before launching out and establishing R.O.M.  After 16 years of pastoral experience, he has worn many hats throughout the life of his ministry, such as serving as the East Texas Region Director of the Board of Evangelism for 10 years, which exemplifies his passion for outreach…which can be seen in the naming of the now present ministry.  Other than the on the job training he received in his years of pastoralship, Elder Smith has his degree in Business from Ashford University of Clinton, Iowa and is currently employed as the Executive Director of Economic Development for the city of Tatum, Texas.

Elder Smith has been married to his lovely wife Lady Regina Smith for 23 years and their lives are founded on two things, which are faith and family.  Their faith of course lies with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has brought them through many adverse situations and circumstances.  Excluding Jesus, their joy is found within their children, Deyanta, Jordan, and Caleb.  Not to be overlooked, in June of 2013, that joy expanded even the more when they took on the responsibility of raising three of their nephews, due to extenuating circumstances in their family; Trevor, Jasyiah, and Drake.  It goes without saying; this dynamic duo has not missed a beat and continuously exemplifies what family is and ought to be.

In the words of Elder Smith, if he had to summarize what ministry means to him…he could be quoted using these words: “Ministry is a gift from God that I value to the utmost.  It is nothing that can be obtained by reading a book, but it is something that must be experienced.  The pure fact of the matter is ministry is my life and my life belongs to God, so therefore, so does my ministry.”

Lady Regina Smith has been married to Elder Smith for 23 years and is the mother of three children, Deyanta, Jordan, and Caleb. Not to be excluding she also become a mother figure to three other young men in the form of her nephews due to a family tragedy; Trevor, Jasyiah, and Drake as with everything else she does, she handled the transition seamlessly and welcomed them with open arms and love.

She hales from very humble beginnings which started in Daingerfield, TX...which is also where she met Pastor and their journey began. She currently is the Director of Lil' Eagles Preschool and Childcare in Tatum, TX and has almost 25 years of childcare experience.

She cannot be defined as the typical pastor's wife, for Lady Regina's views are not about the forefront, but can be quoted saying she is comfortable behind the scenes.

When asked questions of what it has been like being a pastor's wife, she states, “As for me at that time I didn’t know my calling, I was just a young pastor’s wife who asked herself… “How can I be the best pastor’s wife I can be?”  “What is expected of me as a pastor’s wife?”  “What is everyone going to think?”  Vivid memories instantly leap to my mind as I remember asking myself those very questions.  Coupled with the daunting task of what ministry itself held, being of mother of three men at that time these questions seemed fitting.

Now, after a few years of ministry, as well as, people experience…but mostly the petitioning of God to grant wisdom and knowledge to be that godly wife, mother, and Woman of God…she ultimately learned how to fill each of these categories.  Simply by being true to herself and walking in integrity, God has guided her to heights unseen in every aspect.  There is no greater praise or gift to God and the people you serve, than remaining true to your own identity.  Simply stating, remaining steadfast in holiness, truth, integrity, love, and joy while reflecting God’s grace, mercy, and love on this Earth, is greater than any skill or talent that hides who you were created to be no matter who you are.

A word of wisdom simply says, “Focusing on an undefined goal dooms you to failure – because you’ll never know when it’s been obtained – because it never existed!”
